LOS ANGELES – Likening himself to one of his prized gamecocks, Manny Pacquiao said on Friday that he is raring to share the battlefield with Juan Manuel Marquez.

A little over a week before they square off for the third time, Pacquiao said it’s been hard for him to slow down in training as he continues to kill himself at the Wild Card Boxing Club.

“We are arguing (over the length of my training drills),” Pacquiao, title=UGG Boots, grinning, told a handful of Manila-based scribes inside his cramped dressing room.

Pacquiao’s decision to go the extra mile in training stems from the Mexican’s utter lack of respect.

Pacquiao said something in his native Visayan tongue, comparing himself to a feathered warrior that’s about to be let loose.

Pacquiao said Marquez’s incessant whining about the result of their first two fights has gotten under his skin and it has motivated him to train like hell for their scheduled 12-rounder at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“It’s an insult to my manhood,” said Pacquiao, who has vowed to put a closure to their storied trilogy that stretches back to their first encounter in May 2004 that was declared a draw.

Many people thought there’d be no more third fight but after the controversial ending to their rematch in March 2008, next week’s clash had to be done in the hopes of settling the matter once and for all.

Pacquiao said he will try his best to show everyone that he is the better man and that the judges didn’t err in their handling of the total 24-round war.

Meanwhile, Marquez is expected to arrive here Saturday morning from Mexico City in time for an open workout-cum-sparring session at the Santa Anita racetrack.

Publicist Ricardo Jimenez, who attended Marquez’s media workout early this week, title=Moncler Outlet Online, said the 38-year-old counter-puncher has been making his trainer Nacho Beristain a million and one reasons to smile.

Jimenez said the addition of a nutritionist and strength coach has worked wonders as Marquez has shown tremendous amount of energy at the Romanza Gym.

“Marquez has gotten stronger and Nacho acknowledges this as well,” said Jimenez.
